Workshop

Sound has always been considered a direct link between humankind and the Divine. The ancient mystery schools all taught their students the use of sound as a creative and healing force. It is considered the oldest form of healing, and it was a predominant part of the early teachings of the Greeks, Chinese, East Indians, Tibetans, Egyptians, American Indians, Mayas, and the Aztecs. There was a time when healing, song, and storytelling went hand in hand. On a physical level, what has been called "music therapy" has been applied to alleviate aches and pains, lower blood pressure, and balance hyperactivity in children, among many of its uses.

On a metaphysical level, sound in the form of mantras and chants has been used to induce altered states of consciousness, open new levels of awareness, stimulate intuition, and increase creativity. These applications of sound have been most effective in achieving their intended results. The field of music therapy itself has been developed extensively and offers a vast reservoir of knowledge for further exploration.

We will tap into that reservoir ourselves during this workshop . . . and we will take music therapy to a new level, all the way Home to the spiritual core of healing. In this workshop, we will explore the use of sound as a sacred tool in the Attunement process. We will consider and actually work with sound as a medium for the conveyance of Spirit into the world of form. Sound, then, becomes a carrier wave for Spirit, and for the Word that creates Light - and from Light all of creation.

The use of sound as a carrier wave for Spirit is an ancient practice not new to the fields of healing and spiritual transformation. Mantras have been chanted and sacred words of power sounded to set cosmic forces in motion - the very genesis of creation itself - summoning energies to move creative processes along their intended paths. So, it is not surprising that toning has emerged naturally into the Attunement field.

We're working, after all, with vibrational substance, which compels audible expression to convey its message. That message is the very Word of Spirit that creates the world of form, thereby setting the dominion of the ordinances of heaven clearly and immovably in the earth. This workshop will provide space to explore this ancient sacred healing art.
